We at the Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship work together to help one another in the fellowship of prayer, training and resources recommendation. We have members in the United States and abroad. We are blessed to be an ethnic work of the Southern Baptist Convention. We gather together as a group once a year for prayer, fellowship, evangelism planning and training. During the year we will communicate news of ministry events and fellowship in prayer.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of G-d for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of G-d is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH. [Romans 1:16-17 NASU]
I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, G-d blessed forever. Amen. [Romans 9:1-5 NASU]
Our
main objective is to lead lost ones into eternal life in Mashiach Yeshua.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one L-rd, one faith, one baptism; one G-d and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. [Ephesians 4:4-6 NKJV]
We must work to tear down any and all walls of division in the Body. As members of the Body we must build on the foundation of Mashiach. We must be about the building up of the saints in Christ. We must be about Kingdom business, in Mashiach, Jew and Gentile, one in faith, in one faith.
Even
so Abraham BELIEVED G-D, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham.
The Scripture, foreseeing that G-d would justify the Gentiles
by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "ALL THE
NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU." So
then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.
[Galatians 3:6-9 NASU]
"In our contact with the saints we should have only one motive: To minister Christ to them so that they may grow in the L-rd. Then G-d will send His Word as the rain and snow that water his people to sanctify, transform, and conform them to His image for the building up of the Body." [Isaiah 55:10-11; Ephesians 4:15-16]. We believe that there is one Body, one Spirit and we need to be of one mind in Yeshua (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 10:17, 12:12,13,20; Ephesians 2:16, 4:4; Colossians 3:15).
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called inone body ; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to G-d. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the L-rd Jesus, giving thanks through Him to G-d the Father. [Colossians 3:15-17 NASU] Our fellowship
is open to all who minister Yeshua (Jesus) to others.
We welcome in membership, ministers, support personnel and
congregational members. We have
members who come from non-Messianic churches, who support Messianic
ministries and new works in Messianic ministry.
Also I heard the voice of the L-rd, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me ." And He said, "Go, and tell this people: 'Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.' [Isaiah 6:8-9 NKJV]
To the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. [1 Corinthians 9:22-23 NKJV]
The
voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare
the way of the L-rd; Make
straight in the desert a highway for our G-d.
Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth;
The glory of the L-rd shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it
together; For the mouth of the
L-rd has spoken.
[Isaiah 40:3-5 NKJV] Our current SBMF President serves as the congregational leader of a Messianic Congregation in Wichita, KS. He is ordained in pastoral ministries as a Messianic Rabbi and a Southern Baptist Pastor. Brother Mike Saffle is a dear brother in Yeshua, who serves the Kingdom by building up the saints in his congregation and in the SBMF. President Mike is a school teacher who specializes in special education. This is how he earns the funds to pay for his ministry service.
Like
many in our fellowship I am a Messianic Jewish believer in Yeshua HaMashiach
(Jesus the Messiah). As a
Messianic Minister, called to the service of G-d , I
was blessed by G-d to come to faith in Yeshua (Jesus) as my L-rd and
Savior in 1984. Because of the
love of G-d, the speaking of the Ruach Elohim (Spirit of G-d), the fellowship
of the brethren I was blessed by G-d with ears to hear. I came from
an Orthodox Jewish background and a Jewish ancestry, to a personal
relationship with the Savior of the world, Yeshua Adonai (Jesus the L-rd).
I believe that I am a Jew who has a living relationship with Messiah Yeshua,
and have His life and light dwelling within me. I asked HaShem (G-d) to
show me if Jesus was the Messiah and He did.
As a Jew, I too was cut off from the vine.
Because of His sacrifice and grace I was grafted back into the vine.
I
am Mashiachanim or Meshechanim, the Hebrew words that mean Christian.
This word translated into English is Messianic. As
many in our fellowship I am in a ministry that HaShem (G-d) has charged
me to work and I am otherwise employed to support my ministry work in
Mashiach (Messiah). Charged to be the SBMF President, HaShem has blessed me to be
a serving-one to the members of the Body of Christ, the SBMF and SBC.
As Christians our job is
to feed truth, light and life, to who those are in the darkness or unbelief. There
is a Jewish prayer that speaks of the value of the Word of G-d. The
title is Ayts
khayeem (Tree of Life) and
this is the liturgy that speaks of our love for His Word. Ayts
khayeem hee' lamakhazeekeem bah v‘tomkheha
m'ooshar. D'rakheha
darkhay
no-am v'khol n'teevoteha
shalom. Hasheevaynoo
Adonai elekha v'nashoovah kadesh (kadesh)
(kadesh yamaynoo) Kadesh
yamaynoo k’kedem.
A
tree of life it (is) to those who take hold of it and happy are those who
support it. Its ways (are) ways of pleasantness and all its paths are peace.
Turn us L-rd to you and let us return.
Renew our days as of old. We
are what we eat. We need to read
the Word and be filled with the food from the Tree of Life that fills us with
His Life and Light. [Genesis 2:9;
Proverbs 3:18, 11:30, 13:12; Revelation 2:7, 22:14, 22:18-19] Blessed
is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those
things which are written in it; for the time is near.
[Revelation 1:3 NKJV] In
the book of Ezekiel (1:16-21) we read of wheels that move with the move of
G-d. We in the SBMF choose to grab hold of the wheels and go where they lead us. In
compliance to this we must live as we are taught in Deuteronomy 6:4-9.
The Great Commission is first illustrated here in His Word. Hear,
O Israel: The L-rd our G-d, the L-rd is one!
You shall love the L-rd your G-d with all your heart, with all your
soul, and with all your strength."
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You
shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you
sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you
rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as
frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your
house and on your gates. [Deuteronomy 6:4-9
NKJV] We must keep on target, holding fast to what He has given to us.
But
examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from
every form of evil. [1 Thessalonians 5:21-22] Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without
wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to
stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own
assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another;
and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
[Hebrews 10:22-25] I
am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your
crown. He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God,
and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of
My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes
down out of heaven from My God, and My new name. [Revelation
3:11-12]
I
hold to this belief: If it is not about my gaining a better
relationship with the L-rd and Savior Yeshua ha'Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah), I need to forget about it. If it
is not about my bringing others to a relationship with the true L-rd and savior,
I should forget about it. If it is not about ha'Mashiach Yeshua
(Jesus the Messiah), we must forget about it. But
what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed
I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ
Jesus my L-rd, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count
them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from
the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which
is from G-d by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection,
and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by
any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
(Philippians 3:7-11 NKJV)
And
this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus
Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. [1 John 3:23 KJV]
As stewards we must pass this gift of love on to all we meet. One Body, one mind, one mission, to lead people to salvation in Mashiach Yeshua.
We pray that our brothers and sisters in the SBC become more involved, joining us in this ethnic work of Christ. We need prayer most of all. We are limited in resources of all kinds. The SBMF is small and in a building stage. As small as our fellowship is we work to lead our Jewish kinsman and others to life formed in Yeshua, found in Yeshua and conformed to His life and nature. Slow but sure we are growing, bearing fruit in His name and by His grace.
Let
us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on
Jesus [Hebrews
12:1-2 NASU] We must run this race hand in hand. If we hold onto each other we can't compete, fall behind or fall out. Hand in hand we finish together. One Body - One Mind.
I am bound to pray for all ministries and ministers that are dedicated to bringing the Gospel to all creation. Many of the ministries that I pray for are not Messianic or associated with SBC. There is only one true Body. Yeshua requests a corporate functioning of the Body.
And He said to them, " Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned." [Mark 16:15-16 NASU]

The membership fees and love offerings we receive help us pay the expenses for the teachers who come and teach at our annual meetings.
